SANS Excellence Awards


The Snowmobilers Association of Nova Scotia is pleased to present the Snowmobile Excellence Awards program to recognize exceptional contributions to organized snowmobiling in Nova Scotia.

The SANS Snowmobile Excellence Awards will honour individuals, snowmobile clubs, associations and businesses in Nova Scotia that, during the past year, have made a significant contribution towards showcasing the popularity and overall appeal of the sport, have made a remarkable effort to promote solidarity and responsibility within the snowmobile community, or who have offered exceptional quality of service to snowmobilers.


RULES & REGULATIONS

The SANS Snowmobile Excellence Awards categories are below. See the "Clubhouse - Forms" for rules, categories and nomination forms. 

The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Dealership
The recipient of this award will be recognized for their exceptional customer and after-sales service, superior technical knowledge, superlative efforts to promote the sport and strong ties to their local snowmobile clubs and community. 

The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Club
The recipient of this award must be a member club of SANS, in good standing,that has shown  distinguishment in the following areas: management, trail development, grooming, safety, environment, promotion, innovation, public relations and  and community outreach. 
 
The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Groomer Operator
The recipient of this award will be recognized for their outstanding contribution to a SANS Clubs' trail system through their efforts to emphasize safety, protection to the environment and their skill and commitment to maintain groomed trails through the snowmobile season.
 
The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Family
The recipient of this award must be a member in good standing of a SANS member club and will have distinguished themselves in the following areas: volunteerism, leadership, safety, the environment, promotion of responsible snwomobiling, development of the sport and community outreach.
 
The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobiler
The recipient of this award must be a member in good standing of a SANS member club and will have distinguished themselves in the following areas: volunteerism, leadership, safety, the environment, promotion of responsible snwomobiling, development of the sport and community outreach.
 
The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Youth
The recipient of this award must be under 18 years of age during the time for which recognition is being made. The youth must also be a member or family member of a SANS member Club. They must be an active snowmobiler and dedicated towards the continued growth of snowmobiling as a family based leisure activity. Other projects may also be considered to demonstrate involvement and promotion of snowmobiling.

The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Couple of the Year

The President's Award
The recipient of this award must demonstrate support for local snowmobile clubs and SANS. They will also be recognized as a promoter of the sport. Any other positive efforts made by this business or person will be considered in the granting of this award. This award is not necessarily offered on a yearly basis.

SANS Lifetime Achievement Award
The SANS Lifetime Achievement Award will be granted to an individual who demonstrates a long term commitment to the SANS organization. This person will have added great value to the association through their competence, leadership, willingness to serve and promotion of snowmobiling within the province and beyond. This award is not necessarily offered on a yearly basis.

Judging for Awards 1-7
Nominations must be sent to the SANS office at least 45 days before the date of the Excellence Awards Banquet. The General Manager will involve non-menbers of SANS to review and vote on the candidate nomination forms. Those selected will have their names sent to the President for approval.

Selection for the President's and Lifetime Achievement Awards
Names of people deemed appropriate for consideration of there awards must be forwarded to the General Manager (GM) and the President. The President and GM will conduct the necessary research to validate the criteria and determine that the award is warranted. These awards will be presented at the SANS Excellence Awards Banquet.

NOMINATION PROCESS

See "Clubhouse - Forms" for forms and nomination forms can also be obtained by contacting the SANS office.

Deadline
All nominations must be received at the SANS office 45 days before the date of the Excellence Awards Banquet.
